The LWF Assembly will host a public hearing on “‘Daily Bread,’ Climate Change and Food Security” on 23 July from 14:30 to 16:00 hrs.

This hearing is based on the LWF’s long diaconal experience of feeding the hungry, considerable reflection and action occurring throughout the LWF with regard to climate change impact on food security, and in anticipation of a public statement ("Daily Bread Instead of Greed") to be acted on later by the Assembly.

The interactive, participatory hearing will begin with a variety of short testimonies (in person and via video), and provide examples on what is occurring in LWF member churches and diaconal programs, including the crucial behavioral, policy and systemic changes.

The session will conclude with opportunities for participants to express further commitments and actions that the LWF should take.
